About the Course

ASM3O – Media Arts offers students a dynamic introduction to the creative, technical, and conceptual world of digital media. This course encourages students to think critically and creatively as they experiment with photography, audio production, video editing, animation, and graphic design—tools essential to visual communication in today’s digital landscape.

Students learn how to use the elements and principles of design in a multimedia context, combining aesthetic understanding with practical skills. Projects range from stop-motion animation and photo essays to public service announcements and soundscapes, helping students explore how media can be used to inform, persuade, and evoke emotion.

Throughout the course, students are guided through the creative process—from brainstorming and storyboarding to production and post-editing—while also learning how to plan and manage their projects effectively. They explore the impact of media on society and analyze how messages are constructed, shared, and received in different cultural contexts.

Whether students aspire to work in film, advertising, journalism, design, or simply want to become more media-literate citizens, ASM3O builds confidence, technical proficiency, and critical awareness—preparing students to express themselves meaningfully through modern digital media.
